Business leaders unite to fight homelessness, sleeping outdoors for one night alongside their peers, giving up the comfort of a warm bed to raise funds charities on the frontline of homelessness. CEO Sleepout events take place in cities across the UK. Will you join us?

Story

On Thursday 26 April, 80 business leaders from the community
will be sleeping rough on the concrete floor of Sixways Stadium’s South Stand
as part of CEO Sleepout.

Warriors Managing Director Gus Mackay, Head of Warriors
Community Foundation Carol Hart and Head of Commercial Leyton Williams will be
among those sleeping rough as the Club and the local community aim to raise
awareness and funds to support homeless people across Worcestershire.

CEO Sleepout is a charity which fights homelessness and
poverty across the UK. Some people sleep out 365 days a year and this should
not be happening in our community.

Warriors have been supporting homelessness for many years,
having worked with the homeless community in a number of ways.

The first homeless rugby team – Warriors Homeless Rugby –
was set up in 2012 and has been running now for six years.

Warriors players make the trip down to Maggs Day Centre to
buy, cook and serve food to the homeless while the Club have also provided warm
clothing for those living on the streets – also working closely with St Paul’s
Hostel.

The Club plays its part in stocking the local food bank, led
by the Rugby Department, and Warriors’ HITZ programme also offers a safe place
and support for young homeless people.

The Community Foundation sits on the Worcester Homeless
Alleviation Forum and plays an active role in raising awareness of adverse
childhood experiences which is the main cause of homelessness.

As a business, Warriors lead by example, but there is a
whole lot more to be done. Every penny raised for Sleepout will support
homelessness and provide better outcomes for people in desperate need.
