In September 2012 we were given the heartbreaking news that my Mum, Janet Wood, had incurable Pancreatic Cancer. She fought hard and accepted any offer of treatment offered in a hope it would extend her life and we all prayed a miracle would happen.
Unfortunately on the 10th April 2013 we realised this miracle would not come as she slipped away from us.

Prior to becoming unwell Mum and I enjoyed attending Body Combat classes at our local leisure center, which helped us both greatly during an already difficult time in both our lives and during Mums illness she insisted I still try to kee up with classes as she had realised the change in me since we started.

My friend Rachel Brookes suggested we considered doing a Combat-a-thon in her memory and the rest as they say is history!
