Being built to race over 1 mile or less, I've been inspired by James Cracknell's (Olympic Gold Rower) marathon efforts.Therefore, I'd like to prove again that us Big Boys can run well over a distance not suited to our 'make up'.

Furthermore, I require surgery to both hips (due to a genetic issue) in the near future whereby the surgeon has confirmed that I've got less than a 50% chance of returning to competitive running. For anyone who knows me and my love for running, I'm gutted. I have to manage the pain on a daily basis but have received the blessing of the surgeon to smash the best times I can before the inevitable surgery.

Whilst this is a big challenge, and means so much to me, I want to make the most of this opportunity to raise some solid cash for a charity that is close to my heart, This Is EPIC.

This Is EPIC exists to see positive changes in the lives of people by developing Village Savings & Loans groups. By training groups of
people to save and loan their own money This Is EPIC empowers them to invest in their own income generating activities. This enables income stability for people via a help up & not a hand out.
