Charity Watt Weekend 2021 · 1 February 2021

Around since 1923, SAMH currently operates over 60 services in communities across Scotland. These services together with our national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention, sport and physical activity; inform our policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.

Story

Thanks for visiting our team fundraising page. We are a society affiliated with Heriot-Watt Student Union and over the course of a weekend (February 19th - 21st)  various members will be undertaking a 24 hour streamathon. The ongoing coronavirus pandemic has continued to strain many people's mental health.

Some Mental Health Facts:
According to the Scottish government, 1 in 3 people are estimated to suffer a form of mental illness.
According to the NHS, people suffering from mental illnesses can have a reduced life span of up to 20 years in comparison to their peers, due to physical side-effects of stress and increased risk to health complications such as heart disease.
