My Story

To put it simply, I’m taking part on behalf of my lovely, incredible Nana, Betty, who is living with dementia. Dementia UK provide incredible support to families and individuals with dementia. 

A few years ago we started to notice that Nana was having a hard time remembering, her speech started to get a bit muddled. It was hard to accept what was happening, especially for my Grandad this must’ve been a terrifying time. Dementia can often be a hard and lonely place, not only for my Nana but for those close to her as well. She has good days and bad days.

Dementia UK provide Admiral Nurses, who are able to support a family when they are going through this. They give carers the opportunity to look after themselves, take a break and provide specialist information and support to those in need. 

£27 could pay for a brand new nurse for one hour. 

£220 pays for a brand new nurse for one day, offering crucial support when families need it most. 

£500 allows two Admiral Nurses to take helpline calls all day on Sunday, when all other services are closed.
