Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

The Wave Project is an award winning Charity currently operating in N.Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales who deliver Surf therapy courses to vulnerable children and youth struggling with their mental wellbeing. This is done through a combination of surfing and mentoring. Courses are evidence based and proven to help improve the wellbeing, confidence and overall emotional resilience of participants.

A group of our amazing committed Wave Project volunteers, supporters and young people will be pushing their limitations, running a 10k distance around Portrush on Sunday 1st August 2021.  With the success of our 10K last year in place of the Belfast Marathon Relay, we have decided to make this an annual fundraising event.

Given the current Covid pandemic, we are currently receiving an influx of referrals for young people across the Causeway Coast and further afield, who have been experiencing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem and isolation for many reasons and heightened by the pandemic. We hope to fundraise to help put more young people through one of our surf-therapy courses, encouraging them to become confident and resilient again.

So please, join us and donate what you can to support our endeavours.
