Mencap Cymru & Paul Ridd Foundation Health Jump

Paul Ridd Foundation Health Jump · 23 June 2018
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
5 years ago I did a double parachute jump for Mencap Cymru (up down and up down again) and I loved it.
Over the last five years we have been working really closely with the Paul Ridd Foundation on improving health outcomes for people with a learning disability in secondary health care (HOSPITALS) in Wales. The Ridds lost their brother Paul in 2009 due to a dire lack of awareness by hospital staff of the needs of people with a learning disability. 9 years on and PRF and Mencap Cymru are making some really inspiring inroads into creating health equality for people with a learning disability in Wales.
I am paying for the jump myself (£240) and would like to raise an additional £500 to help fund our work to create even more Learning Disability Health Champions in every hospital in Wales. The money I raise will be used to support the work of the Paul Ridd Foundation & Mencap Cymru and will fund hospital packs for Hospital Health Champions - these are ordinary health/hospital workers who want to make a difference to the experiences of people with a learning disability in their hospital. They do it for free but need support and resources to make sure they can help their colleagues understand learning disability and see the person not only the impairment.
Please help us to raise awareness and save more lives in Wales.
