I started working with York LGBT just after I finished my degree in 2017. I have seen first-hand just how impactful and vital this charity is. 

York LGBT Forum saves lives. They create spaces for LGBTQ+ people to come and be themselves without fear of judgment, hate, or seclusion. The charity is passionate about addressing the issues that the community faces today and continues to pioneer inclusivity, equality of opportunity, tackling and challenging hate, and above all, spreading a message of acceptance and love. 

Many members have said the Forum has been a lifeline for them. This charity brings people together and really showcases the strength of community. 

York LGBT Forum changed my life. They welcomed me with open arms and continue to support me in my own career and ambition. Their scope of impact is vast, from working with people who have experienced hate crime, those who have been disowned by family members, working creatively celebrating LGBTQ+ culture, working to support positive mental health and wellbeing, supporting people into employment, delivering gender and identity workshops, and so much more. 

I am passionate about the work York LGBT Forum does which is why I have decided to do this fundraiser! The more that gets donated the more I will run!! Not sure what I've got myself in for but it is worth it for such an incredible charity like York LGBT Forum.
