Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
One day back in early October I discovered to my joy that I had been accepted to run in the 2016 London Marathon. However, on that very same day my happiness was soon overshadowed by the news that my old friend Helen Pegg lost her life to leukemia just a few weeks short of her 41st birthday. It seemed only fitting that I raise money in her memory.
I have known Helen since the age of sixteen and she was a person full of life, guts and determination. A true salt of the earth personality. Helen was far too young to leave us, but her legacy lives on.
All the long runs during the winter months battling against the snow, cold, wind and rain have been a test of my character. However, knowing that I am doing this for a good cause and in Helen's memory has kept me going.
Cancer touches too many of us and to help me kick cancer's butt, I would be so grateful of any donation and support to my Justgiving page.
Best wishes
Wayne
