Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Ok where do I start? At the end….Tynemouth!!!

The Challenge!
Before reaching Tynemouth I will have cycled across the UK, starting the challenge in Whitehaven, Cumbria on the 27th March 2016 I will cycle across the north of England using the Coast To Coast cycle route, finishing 130 miles later in Tynemouth on the afternoon of 30th March. Whilst I’m still in recovery from a catastrophic brain injury this is no small task.

30th March 2016 is poignant because that day will be the 2nd anniversary of the day I didn't die thanks to Mr Crossman and his team at the Rvi hospital.

Who? Me?
On the 30th March 2014 I was the victim of an unprovoked attack which saw me spend 12 days in a coma where my family were informed that i may not survive, if I did survive I could be left severely brain damaged. So far I've managed to surprise the Doctors and hope to continue doing that with my recovery.

As I write this I’m 18 months into my recovery, there has been some high points and very low ones, very common with a brain injury I’m told (one step forward two steps back sort of thing). But I continue to fight against the brain damage, epilepsy, mental illness & fatigue I suffer safe in the knowledge that i’m lucky to be alive & I’m blessed to be here to see my kids grow up.

See link below to the story of how I was almost killed.

The negatives that my various health issues & most recently Northumbria Police(!!!) have thrown at me over the last 18 month only fuel my drive to recover and turn my situation into something positive.

Hence creating this charity Coast to Coast cycle ride for myself to complete.

Firstly - Because it will benefit a great charity 'The Peoples Kitchen' who provide food, clothing & advice about getting rehoused to the homeless people of Newcastle.

Secondly - I think its a great example to my kids to see their dad progress & succeed through adversity.

Thirdly - It gives me something to concentrate on and help me regain my fitness and improve myself aiding my recovery more.

Last but certainly not least - I hope that people who have suffered brain injuries see this and find it an inspiration to get strong and continue to improve and reach there goals, positivity over negativity will always win.

Why choose a homeless charity?
After i was attacked I was unable to work so quickly had to give up my car & home, luckily my Girlfriend took me in.I was lucky, I had somewhere to go.Not everyone has that privilege.

Basically due to a set of circumstances beyond my control I could have very easily ended up homeless. And so could any of you reading this, we are all just a few bad choices or run of bad luck away from being on the streets which is why charity’s like Peoples Kitchen are so important and should be supported.

Thank you for reading my drivel!! And please share my page across your social media platforms and with friends.

Dig deep and support this brilliant charity you never know when you might need them.

I’ll see you at the finish line.

Blessings to you all.
