I found out at the beginning of the year that one of my old cricketing colleagues lost his son to a very rare blood disorder last year.

I fancied a challenge, something that was going to test me, something that I could do with a little bit of sweat and determination.  After plenty of deliberation, I decided on putting myself forward to run the Perkins Great Eastern Half Marathon  for The Histiocytosis Research Trust (HRT) on 13th October 2013. 

I started my training in April and have made it to 6.5 miles in just over an hour.  I still have a long way to go to reach 13 miles but I'm quietly confident I will get there before the big day.
