WCB Women's Charity boxing was born from my love of boxing, and from past experiences of family and cancer. Being a boxer myself I know how much of a male dominant sport it is. There are many other companies who provide boxing experiences like WCB but none locally that have created a comfortable and enjoyable environment for women. There are women who are more than happy to be a part of a mixed event and that's great. there are also many women that want that experience but to step into a boxing gym full of male dominance isn't something they feel comfortable with. At WCB our training is women only, our shows have entertainment targeted at women such as ring guys instead of ring girls etc. Men are welcome at our events to support our ladies but our shows are all about giving women and incredible experience and an amazing night out. Sadly to many people have experienced cancer in one way or another, From a friend to a family member or even directly themselves. Our family was affected a few years ago when a close member of our family was affected by this devastating disease. We were very fortunate that our family member was incredibly strong and pulled through the other side and has the all clear but many people are not as fortunate. Since speaking with all the ladies involved in our up coming shows this has become even more prevalent. We hope to be able to use our upcoming show to raise as much money for Cancer Research Uk as possible.
