Thanks for taking the time to visit the WCP Row The Mersey challenge JustGiving page.

In the early hours of 29th October 2021 eight intrepid ’athletes’ from Border Force West Coast Ports Team  based at the Port of Liverpool will set out to row the length of the River Mersey from source to mouth and back again (a mere 220km if you’re  wondering). As we aren’t to be trusted with an actual rowing boat (as that wouldn’t end well let’s be honest) this challenge will be undertaken on a single rowing machine located in the Border Force building at Seaforth Docks and in order to make the challenge more interesting once we set off the flywheel on the rower is not allowed to stop until we hit the 220km point..

We are doing all this in the hope of raising  much needed funds for Cancer Research UK the nominated Border Force charity for 2021. Cancer unfortunately affects  us all in one way or another at some point in our lives so  it’s vital that we continue the fight by raising funds in support of this life saving research.

So here’s the deal. The 8 of us are willing to subject ourselves to 20 plus hours of pain and torment if you are willing to sponsor us to do so.
