As a registered nurse, first working in the community and more recently as the CEO, I have had the privilege of working at Dorothy House Hospice for just over 20 years now and I can honestly say that the care that we provide is simply outstanding!  

Why do I believe this? Because in my role I get to hear directly from the people that we care for each and every day! When I visit the inpatient unit, day services, gym, bereavement groups or meet patients and their families in their own homes, I witness first hand our inspirational staff and volunteers delivering compassionate & extraordinary care. This at a time in people's lives when you really only get that one chance to get it right. I also get to hear the stories the people we care for tell me about the care that they have received. What they share is always humbling, often deeply moving and simply the best examples of human beings being kind, compassionate and extraordinary in the care of their community.   

So if you can please sponsor me as I fundraise by trekking 20-30 miles a day, in 30 degree heat, 100% humidity and in the jungles of Vietnam for 5 days! All to support the work of the hospice reaching out across our communities in Bath and North East Somerset, Wiltshire, Somerset. I promise you that your donation will make a difference and enable to us to care for even more people who are reaching the end of their life ensuring that they can live their best life despite the symptoms, fears and concerns that their condition may be causing.
