We support people ill from asbestos to improve lives of those with Mesothelioma

Story

On November 14th, the entire Industrial Disease team, together with barristers from 12 King's Bench Walk, will attempt to abseil the iconic Arcelor Mittal Orbit sculpture in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford.

The sculpture, which is also an observation tower, is the UK’s tallest sculpture at 114.5m high. Designed by sculptor Sir Anish Kapoor and engineer Cecil Balmond, it is an enduring visual legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, which transformed East London.

The team, along with instructors, will abseil from 80 metres above ground to raise funds for HASAG and Mesothelioma UK to recognise the support both charities provide to our asbestos disease clients and their families following diagnosis.

As well as offering invaluable support and information to those affected by these terrible diseases, the charities also raise awareness about the ongoing danger of asbestos in the workplace, including schools and hospitals.

This latest challenge follows smartly on from the team's successful Catching Collier campaign.

The team:

  • Peter Williams, Fieldfisher
  • Steven Snowden QC, 12 King's Bench Walk
  • Bridget Collier, Fieldfisher
  • Gemma Scott, 12 King's Bench Walk
  • Dushal Mehta, Fieldfisher
  • Kate Boakes, 12 King's Bench Walk
  • Shaheen Mosquera, Fieldfisher
