Story
In 2022, Charlie was diagnosed with breast cancer in her early 30s. That same year, she organised a Wear It Pink event in support of Breast Cancer Now, to raise awareness and help make a difference to those affected by breast cancer.
What I could never have imagined was that the event would end up saving my own life. Just months later, I was diagnosed with breast cancer myself.
From that moment, Charlie and I made it our mission to raise awareness and fundraise in the hope that, together, we could help save more lives. We proudly continued fundraising for Breast Cancer Now in 2023, 2024 and 2025, raising more than £8,000 to date.
Sadly, just a couple of months ago, I lost my beautiful friend Charlie to breast cancer.
Losing Charlie has made this year’s fundraising more personal and more meaningful than ever. I’m determined to continue the work we started together, keep raising awareness and help support the vital work of Breast Cancer Now all in Charlie’s memory.
I’m now preparing for my next Wear It Pink event, which will take place at the Home Office and Ministry of Justice on 20 and 21 October 2026.
I’m hoping to make this our biggest and best fundraiser yet, and I’m currently gathering raffle prizes and other donations to help make the event a success.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us continue the fight against breast cancer and support Breast Cancer Now’s vital work.
For Charlie, and for everyone affected by breast cancer. 💗 🎀
