Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit Elodie Gray's JustGiving page.
Elodie Gray
The Weber family are very close and when one of us is in need, we all come together to help in any way we can.
Elodie Gray, Colin & Sarah's 10 month old daughter, is currently in intensive care at the Newcastle Children’s Heart Unit, as she was born with an enlarged heart. Since birth, she has been in a critical state, undergoing several life-threatening operations and unimaginable heartbreaking conversations for Elodie’s family. With so many struggles along the way, Elodie underwent a miraculous heart transplant in July and is finally on the road to recovery. But the fight is not over yet.
Elodie would not be here with us today without the incredible work from the surgeons and staff at Newcastle Children’s Heart Unit, along with the strong support from family and friends.
Unfortunately Elodie's story is a rare one and nothing short of a miracle. The aim of this fundraising page is not only to help Elodie fight the biggest battle of her life, but to remember those little ones that are no longer with us today.
We want to help raise awareness & donations for the Children's Heart Unit Fund (CHUF) to buy the best equipment, facilities, aftercare, research and staff support so those little ones in the Freeman Hospital can get back on track to a happier and healthier life.
So what have we done?
Weber Staff & close family and friends got together on Saturday the 6th of September to climb Mount Snowdon. Elodie and all the families at CHUF were at the forefront of our thoughts and we all made it up in under 3 hours! Emotions were very high, especially as we reached the top as we released red heart balloons into the sky in remembrance of the babies & children who sadly had lost their life at the Freeman Hospital.
And we didn't go up alone either - we brought a camera man! So we will be uploading a short film on to this page so keep your eye out and you can see the climb for yourself!
Thank you -
We want to say a huge thank you to everyone so far who has hosted their own fundraiser and/or donated to this page - big or small - it all goes towards saving lives. We have received an overwhelming amount of support and we are truly grateful. A big thank you to Fonthill Garden Centre for holding a Quiz Night in Bristol, raising £700. Another thank you goes out to Dynamite Chicken, a band from the South East, for putting on a fundraiser and donating an amazing £2,000 from the night!
We are well on our way to reaching our target of £20,000 but that doesn't mean we should stop. We are already thinking of new fundraisers we can hold to keep this up!
Please keep Colin, Sarah, Chloe, Freya and Elodie in your thoughts and prayers and again, thank you.
