Raising Money for MSF

Raising Money for MSF · 2 June 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic has dramatically changed the lives of billions of people across the world. Almost overnight, entire countries shut down, forcing citizens into mandatory lockdown and laying bare some of the greatest inequalities in our global society.
Facial coverings have become the new normal in many countries. Globally, people going about their normal routine - a trip to the supermarket, a stroll in the park - whilst wearing a face mask will certainly become an era-defining image. They will undoubtedly be a part of everyday life for some time to come.
Whilst the world comes to terms with this new way of life, we fear some places will be left behind, further widening the global wealth gap and inequality that grips many countries in the developing world. The textile industry overwhelmingly depends on regions that will likely be hit hardest by the pandemic, where many people live in circumstances that make social distancing an inaccessible luxury.
Médecins Sans Frontières have been at the frontline of global action against medical, natural and conflict-driven emergencies since 1971. They are independent, impartial and neutral. In the midst of the ongoing pandemic, they are on the ground in the worst-hit countries, distributing volunteers, medical supplies and medicine. They are also providing hospitals in some regions with much-needed technical support. Away from the frontline, MSF also use their considerable platform to spread awareness of the work they are doing, as well as mobilising people to call on governments and those in power to establish systematic changes, and to ensure that in the event of a vaccine becoming available that it is accessible to all, not just the privileged few.
We could not have thought of a better organisation to support, and we invite you to join us. Their work will not end once the crisis ends and life returns to normal for many of us.
