Welsh Three Peaks Challenge · 4 April 2020

WIRES, the NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service has been rescuing and caring for native animals for over 35 years. Our mission is to actively rehabilitate and preserve Australian wildlife and inspire others to do the same. We have over 4000 volunteers in 28 branches.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On the 4th of April, we're going to attempt to complete the Welsh three peaks challenge in 24 hours. Thats Pen Y Fan (886 m), Cadair Idris (893 m) and finally, Snowdon (1,085 m). Thats 17 miles (27Km) and an ascent of 2864 m.

Whilst it's sure to be a fun challenge filled with laughter and aching joints, we're raising for an important cause.

Australia is on fire, 14.7 million acres of land has been burnt, and over half a billion animals have lost their lives in the fires. Biodiversity is so important to this world, and Australia is home to some of the most unique wildlife on the planet. So we thought we'd try and help in by fundraising for WIRES, the Australian Wildlife Rescue Organisation in a way that we know best. Walking. Just to go the extra mile, we're dressing up in Kangaroo and Koala costumes, just to further highlight our cause.

So dig deep and please share the page, and keep an eye out for social media updates - Tom, Sam, Cieran, Sam and Guy.
