Story
With Lockdown keeping us in our 'bubbles' and away from the people we love, I thought a lot about getting out and about as soon as it's lifted and doing something positive with my friends and family (obviously within the Government Guidelines). Maria and I loved the Peak District, and I recently came across their 200 mile Boundary Walk. So I've decided to complete it to raise some money for a charity who helped us enormously during her illness.
I have chosen to walk for Blood Cancer UK who are a charity dedicated to beating blood cancer.
After the initial diagnosed the Charity was brilliant, providing us with lots of valuable information about her type of Leukaemia, about the treatments available and explaining the procedures. We also attended their local monthly support group sessions. It was really good for us both to be able to meet other Blood Cancer sufferers, share experiences, talk about their highs and lows, and discuss the various treatments and after effects.
The 200 mile walk is split into 20 stages (averaging 10 miles each) and ascending just over 25,000 feet overall. I aim to complete it in 60 days starting on the 1st April and finishing on 31st May 2021. Various family members & friends have said they will accompany me on a number of the stages, which is absolutely brilliant.
I hope you will be kind enough to support me in fund raising for this important charity.
Thank you so very much.
