As many of you know my Son has Type 1 Diabetes so this charity is very close to my heart.

Type 1 diabetes affects about 400,000 people in the UK,
26,000 of them children.

Incidence is increasing by about four per cent each year
particularly in children under five, with a five-fold increase
in this age group in the last 20 years.

It is a chronic, life threatening condition which has a life-long
impact on those diagnosed with it and their families.

People with type 1 diabetes rely on multiple insulin
injections or pump infusions every day just to stay alive,
until they find a cure.
