Story
Thank you for visiting our Just Giving page:)
Myself and 10 friends are raising money for Kings Mill Hospital's Oncology Fund. My Mum Beryl was diagnosed with aggressive terminal Bladder Cancer September 2012. It was a terrible shock, and upsetting for us all. She's being looked after and treated by the staff on the Oncology Unit at our local hospital, so I thought I might try a challenge to help raise funds, and get a few friends involved;)
Both Andy's and My family have been hit a lot in the past, with parents and other family members battling and passing away due to the dreaded big C. The challenge we walkers face is going to be a difficult one, but I'm sure its nothing compared to what my mum is going through.
We'll be walking 51 miles over 2 days on the 29th & 30th June 2013 from Kirkby in Ashfield to Glossop. We've got alot of people involved who just can't wait to help:) There are cost's involved with this challenge and we have been lucky enough that we've had generous donations from three companies:
Noyantis Ltd, Dentsys Ltd and InspHire Ltd. this means all the donations we raise can go direct to the charity. We thank these companies very much for their help.
Now we need your help, we can't raise money without you. So please dig deep and lets see if we can beat the hell out of this goal:) I must thank the friends involved who are joining me on this 51 mile trek:
Andy Wilton, Tam Hibbert, Dave Goodwin, Tracy Parkes, Phil Meadows, Gordon Flint, Wayne and Julie Peberday, Dave Freemantle and Emily Vine.
We''ve also got our trusty drivers, not only for our lift back (as we don't want to walk it;) but to help along the way with rest stops, they are Julie Guyatt, Neil and Richard Parkes.
We'd love a gathering at the finish line, so please feel free to turn up on Sunday 30th June, at Norfolk Square, Glossop sometime around tea time (assuming all goes well) on behalf me, my family and my sisters Denise and Deborah's families, we Thank You very much for your Support xx
