On Wednesday the 2nd of September Wes and Rory will be setting off unsupported to complete the 85-mile, coast-to-coast walk of Hadrian's Wall. We will carry very basic camping equipment in case we need to rest up for a few hours. Essentially, we decided to do this last week after a beer and so physically we are completely unprepared, but mentally we're already home and dry.

We are doing this because we're generally full of great ideas, but mainly to raise vital funds for Redthread, who are an amazing charity based in hospitals and support some of the most vulnerable young people. They do this with specialist youth workers, alongside NHS A&E staff to support young people who have experienced violence, exploitation and other trauma-related incidents. So they may then go on to lead happy and safe lives.

As an added incentive to donate we have decided to offer this up as a competition for all of you lovely people, whereby, with your donation you can guess how many hours this will take and the closest guess wins the prize. The prize for the best guess will be dinner for two on Wes and Rory (£100 limit) at a restaurant of your choice. You can have as many donations and guesses as you like - may the odds be ever in your favour.

Here's how far your donation could go:

£15 could pay for a taxi taking a young person from danger to temporary accommodation.

£30 could pay for specialist support with a mental health professional, for a young person facing depression, anxiety or other emotional wellbeing concerns.

£100 could pay for immediate crisis intervention support from a specialist youth worker, for a young person arriving at hospital in pain, fear and shock after a violent injury.
