We're taking part in WaterAid's employee development programme for companies around the world. Teams compete and use the knowledge and expertise of their company to solve a real challenge from our work, raise money, and develop new workplace skills.

The Enviro Sanitation Disposal Team or Wessex Sannivators is just one of the Wessex Water's entries for the WaterAid's global employee development program.

This year the focus is on India and tackling the issue of the disposal of sanitary products especially in rural areas.

It poses a real challenge for women and girls because there is no reliable and hassle-free disposal system for sanitary pads, meaning they often get mixed up in community waste. There is a lot of stigma and shame associated with the disposal of sanitary products at a household level.
