We support disadvantaged 11-30 year olds to get their lives on track.

Story

We are writing to you as our valued customer to ask for your support for the Western Pension Solutions and K3 Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.

On 7 May 2019, WPS and K3 as a team, will undertake this challenge. We will be hiking across the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, within a 12 hour timescale crossing 24 miles (38.6km) including 1585m (5200 ft) of ascent.

We are doing it to raise a minimum of £3,000 for the Prince’s Trust who help disadvantaged young people to get their lives on track.

The Prince’s Trust supports 11 to 30-year-olds who are unemployed and those struggling at school and at risk of exclusion. Many of the young people helped by the Trust are in or leaving care, facing issues such as homelessness or mental health problems, or have been in trouble with the law.

In 2016-17 the Trust supported 57,667 young people. Three in four  young people supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training, after completing a Trust programme.

Why are we doing it?

As a fourth-generation family business, we have for over 100 years forged strong links with the communities in which we live and work. We believe in having a sense of purpose beyond profit and in being a good corporate citizen.

Our focus is on inspiring future generations and empowering disenfranchised and vulnerable young people to get on track and achieve their ambitions. This year our support is channelled through the Prince’s Trust.

Also, we are a people business, so we want to empower our employees to take ownership of how we support our local communities, both in the workplace and where they live. That’s why we associate them closely with our community projects.

Now is your chance to be part of our journey, to help us inspire future generations.

You can support our challenge by donating on our JustGiving page. Your contribution will be very much appreciated and acknowledged in our publicity for the event on Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn, should you wish.
