#TeamOrange are taking on the London Marathon 2019 to help in the fight against muscle-wasting conditions

Story

After vowing never to distance run again after stumbling around the Reading Half Marathon in 2017, I'm running the London Marathon next year. What could go wrong?

I've unretired to raise money for a great cause,Muscular Dystrophy UK and a great man in Rikin Shah.

Rikin was the first face I saw at University. He helped me move in and I repayed that favour by beating him at FIFA for 300 straight days. We shared a flat, nights out and a couple of years of great memories.

For those of you that don't know him, Rikin's an all round great guy,an awful driver and a bit of a comedian. 'Man United need John Terry' was August 2018's top gag. He's now a Champions League Powerchair Footballer with his sights set on an England shirt.

Rikin is one of 70,000 people in the UK living with Muscular Dystrophy. There's more than 60 types of the condition that cause muscle weakening and wasting. There's currently no cure and any money you can give will get us closer to changing that.

I'm aiming to raise £1750 and hold a few fundraising events over the coming months so please give generously!

Please also visit https://www.musculardystrophyuk.org to find out more about the great work the charity is doing in supporting those with the condition and working towards a cure.
