Education can change lives. Your support of education in Masiphumelele, South Africa can empower a community hungry for opportunity. Help bring change to those who need it most by supporting Masicorp UK - your gift will benefit over 4000 people each year.

Story

West Lodge Primary School have held several events over the past year to raise funds for Friends of Africa Child Education (FACE), a sub-group of Masicorp.

A group of staff and parents from West Lodge have been training incredibly hard and will be running the Reading Half Marathon on March 2 2014 either as individuals or in teams of 4 to raise further funds for this great cause.

The twenty five members of the running team, the West Lodge Whippets, are: Kim James, Athena Douglas, Ian Bennett, Judy Rackham, James Went, Sian Nair, Julia Conboy, Steve Bovington, Damian Nevins, Sophia Khan, Jim Dees, John Cadman, Andy Lane, Phil Argent, Martin Toye, Raj Rajput, Hubs Bakshi, Alan Thomas, Michelle Thomas, Claire Larkman, Michelle Thwaites, Nicholas Clifton, Peter Leathers, Joanne Leathers, Tim Harris and Jean-Paul Vermeulen.

We believe that it is important to enable all children globally to have a local school to attend. Article 28 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) states that all children have the right to an education. Raising even more money for FACE will allow them to resource the brand new pre-school that is currently being built with stationery, ICT equipment and sports equipment to ensure the children get the best education possible.

Any sponsorship would be greatly appreciated and valued in order to make all of this hard work and training worthwhile and to help the children in the township of Masiphumelele to receive a good education.
