Story
As County Chairman of Worcestershire Federation of Young Farmer's clubs I, Sophie, have always been invested in the health and well being of our beautiful planet. From sponsored swims at the age of 8 for WWF, saving animals and the planet have both been causes very close to me growing up. To raise awareness on a larger scale this year as County Chairman, is such an honour and opportunity I couldn't miss.
I will be joined by 7 other Worcestershire members: Ed Leake, Abi Swaffield, Ed Heinrich, Will Rogers, Alice Thatcher, Andy Callwood and Clare Kirby to take on and conquer the three highest peaks in England, Scotland and Wales, in just 24 hours. We will fight through the blisters, hanger (so hungry you are angry!) and trying not to get lost, for the cause, but we are looking for your support, please. Our planet needs us.
The chosen charity for the event is Plastic Oceans:
Plastic Oceans UK have been experts on plastic pollution for nearly a decade. This began with our award-winning documentary A Plastic Ocean, now available for streaming on Netflix. Each year an extra eight million tonnes of plastic enters the ocean. By supporting us, you're facilitating our education, science and sustainability programmes that will create a wave of change. Through changing attitudes, behaviours and practices on the use and value of plastics, we can stop plastic pollution reaching the ocean within a generation.
We will be posting pictures on Facebook and Instagram of our training and our progress through the challenge, follow us here:
