Flora London Marathon 2006 · 23 April 2006 ·

Sport has tremendous physical, psychological and social benefits for the participants, particularly young people. WheelPower provides and promotes opportunities for thousands of children and young adults with disabilities to participate in recreational and competitive wheelchair sport and improve their quality of life.

Story

In a moment of madness, seven members of WheelPower's London Committee agreed to run the Marathon for WheelPower to raise money for those who can't run, who can't even walk.  Rosie Vestey, whose husband Mark is President of the charity and is in a wheelchair, is bravely leading the team.

Hundreds of disabled people from the elite Paralympians to small children are given a sporting chance at Stoke Mandeville by WheelPower.  Please help us to help them.

Please visit www.wheelpower.org.uk for further information on this appeal and the work of WheelPower.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: WheelPower will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
