Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In 2010, my husband Steve was diagnosed with testicular cancer and made up one of the 50,000 men diagnosed every year in the UK with testicular, prostate, and penile cancer - Orchid is the UK’s leading charity working in the area of male-specific cancers.
On 24th June 2023, I will be cycling the C2C; an iconic route cycled by hundreds of people every year, usually over 4 or 5 days. But I will (hopefully!) be doing it in just 1 day!
I will be attempting to cycle the stunning 150-mile route (with 4500m of ascent) road ride from the mountainous Western Lake District, through the Yorkshire Dales, across the flat Vale of York, and finally, the Northern Valleys of the North York Moors, finishing by the sea in Whitby. You can see the route here, including Hardknott Pass and Wrynose Pass, if you post the following link into your browser you can see a little more...

Orchid has achieved significant success in a short space of time and supported thousands of men and their families. However, it is only a small charity, and there is still more work to be done and demand for these services is increasing year on year. The charity relies entirely on voluntary income to meet its commitments.
