It was nearly a year ago that Do Your Thing was entertaining patients and visitors with classic Christmas hits in the reception area of The Christie.  This annual event is one that the choir really look forward to and although we are sad to not be able to do this in person this year, we are delighted to be part of the Christmas at The Christie event taking place on the 16th of December where our “Where are you Christmas video” will be played. 

We were delighted to be joined by our children’s choir “Do Your Thing Rainbow Choir” and to have created a video that we feel reflects Christmas this year.  The uplifting lyrics in the song “Where Are You Christmas” written by “Will Jennings, James Horner and Mariah Carey” from the musical “The Grinch who stole Christmas” really resonated and we knew that this was the perfect song for our choir to perform in lockdown. We understand how difficult Christmas will be this year for so many people this year but we hope that our video will bring light to those feeling dark times and hope to anyone suffering.

Our choir members have stepped into a new and unknown world becoming sound engineers, becoming adept at recording their vocals onto their phones, set designers, finding places to hang a “green screen” in their homes which they can stand in front off and then actors donning ski suits, jumping on toboggans, baking mince pies, all to be part of this beautiful video of which we are so proud.

We really hope that you enjoy it and that together we can spread some magic and joy at a time when our world desperately needs some and importantly raise a lot of money for a charity close to our hearts. Thank you.
