We have read and heard about many North Devon folk attempting this challenging fund raiser and decided it was time to give it a go. We have been learning how to map read, navigate by compass bearings (badly, lost on Exmoor in the fog) and walk at night (no not back from the pub). Although we are all fairly active mums, none of us are orienteers, professional hikers or survival experts......... We all live in North Devon, most of us in a tiny rural hamlet called Whitehall. In our team we have Doctors, an Events Manager, children's Nursery owner, a Digital Media expert and an elderly care home coordinator. (sorry Bek you are not the elderly one).....! Our biggest challenge to date has been trying to fit our training and map reading sessions in and around our jobs and the 17 kids we have between us. 

Star Trek is a true test of stamina, initiative and team building. We are a little apprehensive about the challenge, but determined to give it a go. We will give it our all and hope to raise significant funds along the way  for our local Rotary. The main beneficiaries will be our two local Hospices and the Devon Air Ambulance.
