Story
Hi, I'm Andy, Jacob's Dad, and I'd like to introduce to you 14 of my friends and family who are joining me in cycling to Paris from the White Lodge Centre! 300km... in 3 days!
Some of you may know, my son Jacob (the little warrior in the photo) wasn't born with the easiest of starts to life, resulting in him being diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy before his first birthday.
Fortunately, because it was caught early on, he has benefited from some great support to aid his rehabilitation and development from centres such as the White Lodge, helping him to learn ways around some of the challenges he faces every day. He recently has built up the strength to begin standing up on his own and is beginning to be able to walk unaided!
White Lodge Centre rely on fundraising to keep providing these incredibly valuable and life changing services and support to children, and their families.
They have been crucial in helping Jacob with his development and to work through the challenges of his Cerebral Palsy, which is why we would all love to raise as much money as possible as a thank you and to continue contributing to the support Jacob receives at White Lodge!
Without the White Lodge, Jacob simply wouldn't be able to have built up the strength and confidence to be able to do the "easiest" of things, like feed himself, learn how to talk, stand, walk, cycle a bike... everything we sometimes take for granted.
I can guarantee that all money raised absolutely goes into the facilities and support team that Jacob uses every day that he's at the White Lodge!
It's not going to be an easy challenge, but we're all very motivated to do this for Jacob... after all, Jacob, other children and also adults that experience the challenges of Cerebral Palsy at times must feel like every day is this size of a challenge for them...
Thank you from the bottom of my heart, and thank you to and from 'Team Jacob'! x
