West Highland Way Challenge · 9 September 2019 ·

5 days 96 miles! 8 walkers, past their prime take on Milngavie to Fort William, one of the most challenging routes in the UK. Rain, Midges. Blisters. Ticks & The Devils Staircase. All for the children, young people & families that Pace support!

Story

This September myself and eight other hardy souls will walk the West Highland Way over the course of five days.  Total distance covered will be 96 miles on Scotland's most well known and wildest long distance route.  Some of us (i.e. me!) are past our prime so it is going to be a challenge!

We are raising money for Pace, which is a charity dedicated to empowering children and young people with cerebral palsy to reach their full potential.   My connection to PACE is via one of my oldest and closest friends - Ian Sansbury - who is CEO at the charity.

It is a remarkable place - at Pace the children are given the right support and input and have access to specialist equipment and they achieve amazing things. Children who cannot sit, learn to sit up and lift their heads and engage with the world around them. Children who were told they would never walk can learn to walk. Children who cannot talk, learn to speak for themselves. Pace children are an inspiration.

These wonderful children have inspired me to take on a route that is one of the most challenging long distance routes in the UK.Your support will change lives - please give generously!
