WE DID IT!!! 3.05PM SATURDAY 3RD JUNE 2006  IT WAS TOUGH  BUT WE DID IT!!!! AND IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO DONATE!!

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

Peter Nedeljkovic "Ned", Derrick Tully and Terry Sparks of St Jude and St Paul's Church, Mildmay Grove, Islington, have successfully completed walking the West Highland Way during 7 long, hard days between 27th May and 3rd June, 2006.

The walk was 152km (95 miles) long and links Milngavie to Fort William - from the outskirts of Scotland’s largest city to the foot of its highest mountain, following the shores of its largest freshwater loch. It passes from the lowlands, across the Highland Boundary Fault and on into the Scottish Highlands. Much of the Way follows ancient and historic routes of communication, and makes use of:

The drove roads along which highlanders herded their cattle and sheep to market in the lowlands.

Military roads built by troops to help control the Jacobite Clans.

Old coaching roads and disused railway lines from the more recent past.

The Walk is in aid of Mildmay Mission Hospital, which was founded by the Revd. William Pennefather. He was also the vicar of St Jude's when he founded the hospital (hence the name "Mildmay"). People who are living with or are dying of HIV/AIDS are loved and cared for at the hospital in the UK and throughout it's projects world wide.

The hospital and St Jude's have also just celebrated key anniversaryies; the hospital's 20th since re-opening and St Jude's 150th (1855-2005)
