On 6th July 2019 Team Wight Spirit will be taking on the
Race the Sun Challenge.  Wight Spirit consists of Maryan Hook, Julie van der Helstraete, Rob Holbrook and Max Holbrook. Our fundraising target is to raise £1700 for Action Medical Research.  The challenge is  for teams of four to cycle 44 miles, trek the Tennyson Trail and canoe a 1.5km course of the River Medina. Teams set off at sunrise aiming to finish by sun set - racing the sun!

A little bit about Action Medical Reserach..... They are the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. For 65 years they’ve helped pioneer ways to prevent disease and develop treatments benefiting millions of people. Research has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths. But they urgently need to develop more new treatments and cures for sick babies and children and this is why we are doing this challenge to join the fight for little lives.
