We believe the death penalty is disproportionately imposed on the most vulnerable in society, violating their right to due process and equal justice before the law. Our aims are to provide better access to justice and to raise awareness of potential abuses of defendants' rights.

Story

for those that dont know me . i've been pritty laid back in life lacking in motivation and direction. I spent years getting myself into trouble, landing myself either in prison or in hospital on several occassions. Fortunately thats all behind me now and I live a totally different lifestyle. For most of this year I've been striving to improve my fitness and am now healthier than I have ever been before. My new possitive outlook on life always has me looking 4 the next challenge to test my abilities. I started running distances and really wanted 2 challenge myself and have something to aim for, so I decided to sign up 4 as many marathons as soon as possible.

I found the next events with spaces are the eden project marathon on 20th october then the enigma 3 lake challenge 29th - 31st october which is 3 marathons in 3 days(In Milton Keynes).

so i plan to attempt to complete all 3 of these and run them all. I thought i'd try and raise some cash for charity 2 give myself extra motivation, and to try to do something positive. as to be honest ive been a bit of a sinner 4 2 long. any way thats when i remembered a talk I went to last year at Plymouth university organised by a law student called Racheal to promote a charity called AMICUS .

AMICUS is a legal charity who's aim is to provide legal representation to those facing the death penalty. Many of the cases they deal with are of people who have spent along time imprisoned and have always protested their innocence , many of whom were convicted on very little evidence with questionably fair trials.

One of the ways in which AMICUS does this is by funding for law students 2 travel to america to volunteer to work on cases trying to appeal these convictions.

for any in doubt about the worth of this cause you should hear the testimony's of Sonia Jacobs and Peter Pringle who both spent considerable time on death row to eventually have their convictions overturned. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiAKd8JsXQY here is a link to their youtube video. its definitely worth a watch their stories are even more moving in  person as are their books. thanks 4 taking the time to read this and i hope 4 your suppport.
