The Wilderness Challenge is a 50km mountain bike ride through open hills and ancient Caledonian pine forest, canoe for 3km on one of the park’s most beautiful lochs, run or walk for 10km including an ascent of an 800m mountain peak and a test of our navigational and team working skills.

The event is set in the Rothiemurchus Estate, near Aviemore in the Scottish Highlands.

About the Sailors’ Society

They are an international charity existing to enrich and enhance the well-being of the world’s 1.2million seafarers.

They offer practical help, emotional and spiritual support and, when needed, financial assistance and family liaison through their network of Port Chaplains and Seafarers’ Centres.

In , the Sailors’ Society Port Chaplain visits many ships as they arrive in port and is therefore heavily involved in supporting workers upon whom the energy industries depend.

Money raised from this event will help continue the provision of ship visiting Port Chaplains to support seafarers and their families in and worldwide.
