Could you join your industry colleagues to run for dementia? On 23 June 2022, runners from across the insurance sector will take on the challenge in Victoria Park, London.

Story

Update: Due to the race being moved a number of times and all the team were not available we are now doing our own challenge -as a group we took part in a trek around London sights at night on Tuesday 22 November for Insurance Day of Giving.

We will match all WTW colleague donations - if you have used your annual allowance or have plans to, please let us know.

We are taking part for IUAD to come together with the rest of the industry to help beat dementia.

There are currently 900,000 people living with dementia in the UK. With no cure and limited treatments, one in three people will develop the condition in their lifetime.

This disease has a devastating personal impact, but also far-reaching consequences for society as a whole – it currently costs the UK economy over £34 billion every single year.

So far, IUAD has raised over £6.8 million to help fund Alzheimer’s Society’s support services and research programme, providing help for today and hope for tomorrow.

IUAD is also committed to driving awareness across the industry of the support available to staff and customers affected by the disease.

Alzheimer's Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
