Wild Walk At The Lickey Hills · 31 October 2020

We're working for nature's recovery across Birmingham, Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton. We restore, protect and create wild spaces for the benefit of people and wildlife.

Story

On Halloween ill be doing a walk with my dad around the lickey hills, observing wildlife and taking pretty photos to raise money for the wildlife trust. Although I struggle with a condition called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, I am striving to do this walk as this charity and what they do mean a lot to me. I will be taking regular breaks and have company so it should hopefully be okay!

Wildlife is in trouble. 56% of UK species are in decline, globally we are in the midst of the largest extinction event since the dinosaurs. In the UK wildflower meadows have been nearly wiped out with just 3% of those we had in the 1930s remaining & hedgehog numbers are down from 30 million in the 1950s to 1 million. For 40 years we have been protecting wildlife, restoring wild spaces & inspiring people for nature’s recovery, we need your help to fight climate change and rapid development. Together, we CAN reverse local wildlife decline.
