Finished! 3:13:14
Wowzers! A day full of surprises. Faster marathon time that I had thought possible and fabulously generous donations from my wonderful friends and family. Very proud to have done something good today.
Thank you to everyone for your support of me and The Alzheimer's Society. Amazing!
This page will be open for a while longer, so you can still contribute to a great cause.
See you soon
Andy
Now to find a doctor and engineer to rebuild my legs. Apparently they have the technology!

So it turns out I'm going to be running to win the London Marathon in less than a week's time!
Planning to go off at 2:15 pace then step it up a little towards the finish. With any luck the Icelandic volcano will have narrowed down the field sufficiently and victory will be mine!
Truthfully, Ishould be staggering across the line in around 3:30, then won't be able to walk again until July. So I thought it would only be proper to achieve something worthwhile in the process.
There are 750,000 people with dementia in the UK with numbers set to rise to one million by 2025. In light of this and the fantastic work they do, I will be supporting The Alzheimer's Society on Sunday.
The Alzheimer's Society is the UK's leading care and research charity for people with dementia and those who care for them. Alzheimer's Society works to improve the quality of life of people affected by dementia in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. I'm sure you'll agree this is a very worthwhile cause.
Thanks for visiting my marathon fundraising page. Looking forward to seeing you on the day, or very soon after.
Andy
