London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
My Mum lost her battle with Cancer, but she was never battling alone.
Over 3 million people are currently living with cancer, a figure that will rise to over 4 million by 2030 - Lets help people feel less alone while fighting cancer.
The London marathon has been something I have wanted to do for a while, but have never found the 'right time' to do it. This year, on the 21st April 2024, I will be running in this incredible event and so have begun fundraising for the amazing charity that is Macmillan Cancer Support.
Between November 2004 and December 2007, my Mum, Auntie and Grandma were all diagnosed with Breast Cancer - something you wouldn't imagine happening to one family member let alone three. Over the duration of their diagnoses, our family received a lot of support from Macmillan, especially my Mum who had a Macmillan nurse appointed to her, something I know she and the rest of my family were very grateful for.
Despite the incredible support that we received over the years, on the 22nd of May 2008, after 3.5 years my Mum sadly lost her battle with Cancer, leaving a hole in our family that at 9 years of age, was something I was not fully able to comprehend.
Since then, both my Grandma (although she is sadly no longer with us) and my Auntie both fought and won their battles with Cancer.
It is for these reasons that I am fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support and so I ask...
If you have a little bit of spare money, which I understand might be a big ask in these current times, I would be incredibly grateful for your contribution towards this cause. The money donated will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support and will make a positive impact in others' lives whilst they or loved ones battle this terrible disease.
