September Swim Challenge for Pain UK · 1 September 2021

Pain UK is working to influence and raise awareness of the way that pain is dealt with in the NHS, the workplace and society. As an umbrella organisation we are building a stronger voice representing those living with pain.

Story

As some of you may know, I have spent most of the last year struggling with severe nerve pain ("sciatica") caused by a herniated lumbar disc ("slipped disc").

I underwent spinal surgery in July and, fortunately, my symptoms have already begun to improve. But unlike me, many people living with chronic pain are unable to access the help that they need.

As I recover, I want to raise money and promote awareness for others living in pain in the UK. Many forms of chronic pain are still poorly understood, and sufferers are often left without proper guidance.

Pain UK is an umbrella organisation that provides support, education and research for pain-related charities in the UK. For more information, go to their website at https://painuk.org.

Any money you can give would be greatly appreciated.
