Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page your support will really encourage me throughout my golf triathlon to raise funds for the Lincolnshire Down Syndrome Support Group. The money I raise goes directly to the group so they can arrange some amazing activities for the children from Pantomimes to Pony rides - it all helps put amazing smiles on amazing children's faces.

My golf triathlon will start on 17th August 2018 at 06:30 at Market Rasen Golf Club, where I'm being supported by my golf buddy Guy Hardcastle for my first 18 holes (5 miles).

Then, I'm resting whilst being driven over to Blankney Golf Club  where I'll do my next 18 holes (5 miles) - this will be my first time at Blankney so I'm looking forward to playing there.

Final course is on home ground at Woodhall Spa, here I'm hoping to finish this amazing challenge with my final 18 holes (5 miles).

My golfing partners for the challenge will be Helen Hewlett (current Lincolnshire Ladies County Champion) and Niall's Dad Pete McMorrow (a former junior county golfer). These chaps are going to play with me, making sure I get round the courses...I actually think Helen has her game face on!

Time will most definitely be against me as I try to complete this 3 course challenge - that's 54 holes and  approximately 15 miles!!

Last year, with your support I completed a 12 hour driving range challenge for LDSSG and I hit over 5,000 balls raising over £1,000. This year, I wanted to step up my challenge and hope to still have fun and meet some amazing people along the way.

A special thanks to all my friends and family at Woodhall Spa Golf Club, Lisa Brown, Richard Latham and Barry Chapman - who continue to support me with my charity challenges and my golf.

I have an amazing support team again this year with Helen Hewlett and Eileen McMorrow (Niall's mum) and my mum Amanda who will be getting me between courses. Eileen and Amanda will have buckets with them at each course.

Please show your support with a donation for Lincolnshire Down Syndrome Support Group - they really do appreciate it and it makes such an amazing difference.

Why Niall Is Extraordinary.... by Niall's Mum.

"The difference between ordinary and extraordinary, is just a little bit extra"

Our story starts around 7 years ago. July 2010 – only a few weeks until we were to meet our much wanted, precious little baby boy. At this point we were blissfully ignorant about the road ahead. We didn’t know Niall was about to have a stroke in utero which would leave his life hanging in the balance. We didn’t know our little man would be severely starved of oxygen at birth and suffer a severe insult to his little brain, spending the next 3 weeks in neo-natal intensive care and 6 weeks in hospital.
And we didn’t know that he would possess an extra Chromosome and be diagnosed with Down's Syndrome hours after birth.

Niall's Down's Syndrome diagnosis paled into insignificance as he was so poorly. By the time he was starting to recover, we had totally come to terms with his extra chromosome – It's what makes him extraordinary!!

Niall is an amazing little boy who has come through so much in his short life. He's a fighter who has developed way beyond his original prognosis and continues to amaze us every day.
Despite all his medical conditions (DS, Autism, Hearing Impairment, Visual Impairment, Mobility Difficulties), Niall is so much more than a list of medical conditions. He is a mischievous, cheeky and noisy little boy who loves the seaside, Mr Tumble and fighting with his little bro.

In fact, all of our members are amazing!! They are all so much more than children with Down's Syndrome, so much more than a list of medical conditions. They are singers, dancers, gymnasts, footballers, tennis players, readers, writers, workers, musicians…they are all AWESOME!

And that is why Lincolnshire Down's Syndrome Support Group exists; to value our amazing children and enhance their lives as much as possible.

Please take some time to read about the work of LDSSG on www.lincsdownsyndrome.org.uk and thank you for every penny you choose to donate.

Thank you, Will, for taking on this challenge on behalf of our group.
 You are Niall's hero!  Eileen
