TCS London Marathon 2024
Campaign by Diabetes UK (RCN 215199)
The greatest marathon in the world. For the last 85 years, Diabetes UK has been at the forefront of diabetes research. We've discovered how to put type 2 diabetes into remission and were working day in, day out to find a cure.

Story

Hello, my name is Will Simpson and I am very excited (and a little nervous!!) to be able to share with you that I am going to be running the 2024 London Marathon on behalf of Diabetes UK!

This charity means a lot to me because I myself, am a type 1 diabetic and I also have family and friends who have also been affected by this life impacting disease.

I was diagnosed when I was 13 and since then I have constantly been trying to prove to myself that living with Diabetes type 1 isn’t a restriction and that I can still live a great life as long as I work hard to keep my blood sugars under control.

I feel as though a lot of people who suffer with Diabetes feel scared, stuck and unsure what to do. This is where Diabetes UK comes in, this charity supports us and provides knowledge so we can live a better life with Diabetes.

I want to run the London Marathon for Diabetes UK but for those who know me will know I have never been a fan of long distance running, so this will be a massive challenge for me to push myself out of my comfort zones in honour of Diabetes UK!

Personally, by running this marathon I really hope to inspire other diabetics, to prove that they can do whatever they set their minds too.

In the current economic climate I know times are tight. But, ANY sponsorship you can give would mean the absolute world to me, and really help Diabetes UK and therefore all of the people in the UK suffering with Diabetes.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, if you have any questions please feel free to drop me a message.

I will complete the London Marathon and I won’t let anything stop me, stay tuned for updates! 🙌🏼💪🏼🏃🏻‍♂️
