Rome Marathon 2009 · 22 March 2009 ·

The Libra Foundation takes UK students out to Romania to work with mentally, physically and developmentally delayed children. Libra provides resources and experiences to Romanian children that cannot otherwise be afforded by their carers or parents.

Story

Libra is a charity that takes UK students to Romania to work in centres with mentally, physically and developmentally delayed children.  Libra provides resources and experiences to Romanian children that the centres cannot otherwise afford.

We are running the Rome Marathon to help raise essential funds for equipment that Libra take out in the summer for the children to use and keep.  This will include equipment, story books and other educational equipment as well as allowing us to take the children on a summer camp.

The money will all go to the work that the students do in Romania.  This work gives the Romanian children experiences which the Romanian carers and staff find hard to give them because of the constraints on the resources that they have to operate with.  A little money from us can go a very long way with the enthusiasm and energy of our teenagers behind it.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Libra Foundation gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please give what you feel appropriate for the benefit of the Romanian children.
