Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am cycling to raise funds for a new school classroom at Bala Children’s Centre, Kenya.

I have been a longtime sponsor of the BCC charity and, at the age of 78, will cycle about 78 miles in the Manchester 100, on the 2nd September, with hope that more than 780 people will each donate £7.80 to raise £7800 to build one new classroom for the children at Bala.

BCC is located near Lake Victoria, Kenya, and currently cares for around 300 children, 70% orphaned, and gives them the opportunity of a good education to make something of their lives.

However, due to the poor condition of some of the existing classrooms (earth floors and open windows) this situation is under threat and BCC has been given notice that it may have to close, unless improvements are made.

Please support me in my cycling effort and help to give Bala children and orphans a chance to make a better life for themselves.
