Story
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) is a major killer in the United Kingdom and worldwide. The cost of dialysis and transplants, the only current therapies causes a huge strain on the NHS, but also on patients lives. Since there is no cure at the moment, there are many amazing scientists, such as my lab group members in the Medway School of Pharmacy and at UCL Great Ormand Street Institute of Child Health, that work tirelessly to try and bring the cure to CKD closer. However, the money for their research does not come from thin air. Events like this and fundraisers like myself are the reason that KRUK is able to keep awarding grants to lab groups and scientists in order to keep the research going in the attempt to save lives. Any amount of money that you are able to donate is amazing and will help keep the hope of finding the cure to CKD alive. Thank you :-)
