I have recently fallen in love with cycling and now want to attempt my most ambitious, seemingly impossible challenge yet: attempting to beat Mark Beaumont's non-stop time of just under 38 hours for the new North Coast 500 miles ride.

Along with many of us, there is cancer in my family - Peter, my brother-in-law, passed away in March- and I want to use the talents I have to highlight and raise funds for further research into this illness which causes great suffering to the individuals affected and also those close to them.

Supported by friends, I shall strain every sinew of my mind and body to train for and complete this personal challenge, while raising hope for those affected and much needed funds for Cancer Research UK along the way.
