Will's raising money for the Alexandra Murphy HHT Foundation

Maratona and Etape du Tour - consecutive weekends · 3 July 2022
In May 2021, a very close friend of mine lost his fiancé Alexandra Murphy to a very rare and little known disorder HHT (Hereditary Haemorrhagic Telangiectasia). I want to help raise awareness of this disorder and some cold hard cash for the charity setup in her name to help find a cure, so please give generously!!
HHT is a rare genetically inherited disorder in which some blood vessels do not develop properly.
People with HHT may form AVMs, which are abnormal blood vessels linking arteries to veins directly, without any capillaries (tiny blood vessels that are usually present) between arteries and veins. AVMs are often fragile and can burst much more easily than other blood vessels.
If discovered early, effective treatments are available. However, there is no cure for HHT. Complications - some of which are potentially life-threatening - and treatment depend on the parts of the body that are affected by the condition.
Please take the time to read up and understand more about HHT and Alex's story at the foundation's website https://alexandramurphyhht.foundation/
On the 3rd and 10th of July, I'll be taking on 2 epic cycling challenges, The Maratona dles Dolomites and The Etape du Tour. Over consecutive weekends a combined distance of 305km and a whopping 8,930m of climbing! I've based my fundraising target on 20p for every 1m of climbing and given I'm more built for going downhill, I can guarantee you I'll be suffering every turn of every pedal and wheel going up those mountains. I'm sure that target can be beaten, please donate what you can to this fantastic foundation!
